The future of the country lies with the youth.This is a fact not many people give thought to. However, it is a truth that can not be neglected. Unfortunately, the education system of the United States is in decay and quickly collapsing. Recent studies have revealed how the United States has fallen behind other developed countries. This poses a problem for business. If they do not find qualified workers within the country, they are forced to look elsewhere. Therefore, something must be done. A program should be placed in high schools to enhance learning about the economy. Then, students will travel abroad and collect information from countries whose economy is flourishing. Information learned will be applied locally.

Triple Bottom Line

People - Who will it help? In the short run, it will help young people in high school. They will be better equipped to deal with the real world and be efficient business people.
Environment - It will help the environment because by creating an educated workforce, these in turn will make wiser decisions regarding the planet and its sustainability.
Economics - Although executing this plan might be costly, the benefits greatly outweigh the costs. Profits will result not only in an improved economy for a sector, but ideally for the entire country.

My Capstone Topic

My project consists on focusing on an education reform because that is directly connected with business, my intended major. I want to improve the quality of education in the United States, specifically in Dallas high schools. Many businesses seek employees outside of the country because qualified individuals are scarce. Therefore, I plan on creating a business that uses the practice of reverse engineering. I will send recently graduated students to countries who have shown rapid advances in education as well as their economy and have those students study the various aspects that go into each sector. Taking the knowledge they have gained, they will come back and attempt to reverse engineer their methods and look for areas that could be improved. Of course, in order for students to be prepared for such an extensive program, preparation is necessary. The proposed plan would include a rigorous study of economics and similarly challenging courses in high school.
